Privacy Policy
What data OrthoTruss™ collects, how it is stored, and your rights.
- Practice Pioneer stores project data primarily on your machine, while connected features send the information described below.
- Hosted AI, licensing, payments, support, updates, public-data requests, and sponsor interactions require network services.
- Payment is handled entirely by Stripe — OrthoTruss™ never sees or stores your card number.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to orthotruss.com and OrthoTruss software, simulators, and connected services (collectively, the “Services”). The Services are operated by Jean-Marc E. Choufani under the OrthoTruss brand, 701 Buckskin Dr, Round Rock, TX 78681.
What we collect and why
Account & license data
Practice Pioneer stores the account information you enter in its local database. Purchases, license delivery, activation, and verification may cause Stripe, OrthoTruss, Keygen, and Resend to process your email, transaction identifiers, product, license status, and a machine fingerprint. Product-marketing email is optional and may be unsubscribed from; transactional licensing and security messages are not marketing.
Payment data
Purchases are processed by Stripe. OrthoTruss™ never receives, transmits, or stores your full card number, CVV, or bank credentials. Stripe's privacy policy governs the payment data they hold: stripe.com/privacy.
Project and planning data
Practice planning data is stored primarily in a local SQLite database at %LOCALAPPDATA%\OrthoTrussPracticeSuite. Local backups and encrypted portable backups remain under your control. OrthoTruss does not centrally collect KPI outcomes for peer benchmarking. Connected features may transmit limited project context as described below, so Practice Pioneer is local-first—not fully offline.
Market & demographic data
When you request market, employer, payer, map, or site analysis, ZIP codes, selected geography, or a candidate-site address may be sent to OrthoTruss data services, the US Census Bureau, CMS/NPPES-related sources, the Census geocoder, or OpenStreetMap Nominatim. These services return requested public-data or location results.
AI Copilot (Pro)
If a Pro user invokes hosted AI, the prompt and relevant project context selected by the application pass through an OrthoTruss proxy to Anthropic. The provider may retain requests for limited safety or abuse-monitoring purposes. Do not submit protected health information or other sensitive personal information. Free users may use an offline guide, local Ollama, or their own Anthropic key instead.
Feedback submissions
The current Practice Pioneer support form sends your email, app version, operating system, selected issue categories, and the structured diagnostic answers shown before submission. It does not upload arbitrary project files or diagnostic logs. We use this information to respond, investigate, and improve reliability.
Feature-interest and sponsored-placement events
A confirmed-free session may send one event per locked feature containing only the surface name and app version, without an account, project, machine, or persistent user identifier. Sponsor impressions and clicks may be recorded with sponsor, account/license, active-project, and event information. Sponsors do not receive those interaction records. Contact details are shared with a sponsor only when you submit an introduction request after seeing what will be shared and affirmatively consenting.
Website analytics
orthotruss.com uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies or fingerprint individual visitors. It provides aggregate page-view counts only.
Product-update lists
If you join a product-update or waitlist form, we store the email address and product interest you submit so we can send the requested updates. Each marketing email must provide an unsubscribe method; opting out places a one-way hash of the address on a global marketing-suppression list. Transactional purchase, license, security, and support messages are not marketing subscriptions.
Simulator tools
The OrthoTruss™ biomechanics simulators run entirely in your browser. They do not transmit any data to OrthoTruss™ servers and do not set cookies.
Third-party services
| Service | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment processing | Name, email, billing address, payment method |
| Keygen | License management | Email, license key and status, machine fingerprint |
| Anthropic | Hosted AI (Pro only) | Prompts and relevant context submitted to AI |
| Resend | Transactional email | Email and message content |
| Cloudflare | Website analytics, CDN, downloads, and updates | Network requests and aggregate page-view data |
Other providers may include Supabase for structured support and partner records, plus Census, NPPES-related sources, and Nominatim for requested data. OrthoTruss does not sell personal information or share it with data brokers. Information is shared with providers to deliver the Services, with a sponsor after an explicit introduction request, when required by law, or as part of a protected business transfer.
Data retention
Local project data remains until you delete it. Product-update addresses are retained until you unsubscribe, the list is discontinued, or retention is no longer reasonably necessary. A non-reversible address hash may be retained as long as reasonably necessary to honor a marketing opt-out. Identifiable support contact data is scheduled for anonymization 90 days after closure; deidentified structured support history may be retained for 12 additional months. Sponsor impression and click records and anonymous feature-interest events may be retained for up to 24 months. Sponsor leads may be retained for up to 24 months after the last related activity, then deleted or anonymized. Purchase, tax, fraud-prevention, and license records are retained for the license relationship and any additional legally required period.
Security
OrthoTruss uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information processed, including encrypted transport and access controls. Portable backups use industry-standard encryption based on a passphrase you control. No system is completely secure. Protect your operating-system account, license key, recovery key, backup passphrase, and exported files.
Children's privacy
The Services are designed for licensed dental and orthodontic professionals and are not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
California residents (CCPA)
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, or deletion of centrally processed personal information. We may verify identity and retain information needed for transactions, fraud prevention, security, legal claims, or compliance. We aim to respond to verified requests within 45 days. OrthoTruss does not sell personal information.
Changes to this policy
We will change the effective date when this policy changes and provide additional notice when required.
