Practice Pioneer's market and demographic data is national, drawn from public federal sources. Verified provider intelligence, confirming which clinicians are active and where, is a separate layer still in validation, Texas first.

Why the former ZIP score is retired

The former ZIP opportunity score combined NPPES registry rows with broad ACS health-coverage categories into a single band. NPPES rows can help locate provider evidence, but they do not establish verified active clinicians, office affiliation, or capacity, and broad ACS categories do not describe dental coverage or network participation. Pioneer will not turn those inputs into a current opportunity verdict, so that score is retired rather than resurfaced.

National demographic and market context remains available in Practice Pioneer today. The verified-provider layer that replaces the retired score begins in Texas, carries explicit evidence and freshness states, and must pass an independently reviewed validation gate before results return.
